12 Week training breakdown

How to get the best out of your training

As a football player your training has to be more than a weekly cycle of just turning up to the pitch or gym and going through the same workouts.

Over time your training needs to develop as your fitness levels and ability does. Additionally some components like, power and agility benefit from the development of others (power and agility benefit from strength and speed).

There are many different plans to design and go through but I wanted to give you one of my ideas for all round football ability that includes speed, agility and conditioning.

Over 12 weeks of training you’re going to break it down into 3 blocks made up of 4 weeks training.

In the first block you're going to work on speed and strength.

In the second block you’ll develop your agility and power.

In the third block you’ll then work on your conditioning and endurance.

This enables you to build speed and strength that can then be developed into agility and power. Lastly you use the final block to build your engine and endurance to improve how long you can maintain your new agility and speed.

Try this out yourself or use it to build your own training plan and see how you can improve and develop your fitness and performance with a well planned out programme.

If you want help creating a programme or more information about the individual blocks, reply to this email ([email protected]) or fill out the contact form on the website www.footballfitnessbootcamp.com and let’s build you a programme that gets you the best results.
