The world cup is now well under way with players competing for the biggest prize in the competition. For many players it’s the biggest stage that everyone wants to take part in and win.

However, for all players taking part it’s potentially another 4 weeks of games and training. On top of that, this year it’s being held in USA which comes with high temperatures and humidity making it harder to play, sapping energy that much quicker.

So not only do players need to being able to maintain their performance after a full season whilst avoiding injury but then compete at the highest possible level in unforgiving conditions.

This is where being fit comes in. If your body can’t keep up you won’t be able to play and you won’t be ready when the opportunity comes. This is why you always need to be developing your fitness and keeping in the best physical condition.
